Underrated Equipment #5 - Knee Cushion

knee cushion.jpg

When I was younger, I did not care about squatting on my knees to get to where I needed to work under a vehicle. Now, I do. My knees ache if I do not use a knee cushion under them. If you look at the mechanics that have not taken care of their knees, you would too. A mechanic’s knees are as just as important as the tools in the toolbox.

I take special care of the parts of my body that I know will weaken as I get older. I do not want them to get weaker any faster! A cheap knee cushion can save your knees from the pain of a concrete floor or gravel driveway. This piece of equipment should be in every mechanic’s toolbox, right next to the safety glasses and ear plugs.

$15 spent on a knee cushion today can save thousands of dollars in knee repair surgery and time from recovery. Preventative maintenance doesn’t just apply to vehicles, you can do preventative maintenance on your body by buying proper safety equipment.
