Underrated Equipment #2 - Topside Creeper
I’m not going to lie. This piece of equipment is the most helpful on tall trucks and hard to reach places on the backside of the engine. It’s basically a creeper for the “topside” of the engine. I’ve used a topside creeper for years and it’s all ways saved be from climbing onto areas of the engine where I do not need to be and breaking components that do not need to be broken. I’ve seen many versions of the topside creeper, like some that come with extra compartments and trays. I’ve seen some with extended areas that you lay on. I’ve even seen people build custom ones. Anyway you go, whether buying one or building one, it will still be helpful around the shop.
The only thing that I dislike about the topside creeper is that over time the padding starts to not work as well as it did before. It starts to hurt my chest, but other than that, this is a great thing to have around the shop.
